Create a Feng Shui Environment at Work!

The stress you may be feeling at work may be due to the boss or too much work load but what about your environment? Apply a few Feng Shui principles at the workplace and notice the difference!

Clearing the work space
Whether you’re working in a cubicle or in a corner office, the art of living the Feng Shui way can be applied in any office configuration. By doing so, you will re-establish a sense of harmony, get rid of negative energy and even appease conflicting relationships with certain colleagues. Your productivity will thrive from it, and soon enough you’ll be feeling a much greater sense of ease and hopefully reach your professional objectives in no time at all!

You do not have to consult a Feng Shui expert to start out. One of the most important things in Feng Shui is to elminate clutter and dust. Throw out any items that may interfere with the flow of ch’i, the natural vital energy found both in your environment and in yourself. Remove posters that adorn your walls. Empty overflowing trashcans, dispose of dead plants or withered flowers, and, finally, get rid of all that molding paperwork cluttering your desk and drawers. Don't forget to wipe your computer monitor and keyboard clean.

Next, ask yourself simply: “What do I really need on my desk?” Leave on it only the things you absolutely need and move lesser important items farther away. Avoid littering cabinets and drawers by piling things on top of one another.

Obtaining what you want
According to the Feng Shui tradition, your space is divided into eight zones, each of which symbolizes different existential aspirations. The areas these zones occupy depend on their geographic orientation. Look out your window (if you have one!) and find out where the sun rises (East of course) and sets (West). This way you will find out which way your desk is pointing.

To obtain better results from what you want, and to attain the objectives you have set for yourself, “the career and professional perspectives” (situated North) is the zone to focus on. Place something liquid in that area, such as an aquarium or fountain for example. You may also use a mirror if you wish. If you have decorative ornaments in that area, avoid ochre or yellow colors and opt for black or dark blue instead.
